SYNOPSIS: Steve spends his days appraising forgotten items in his quiet, cluttered pawn shop. Each piece holds a fragment of someone else’s story, but since his father’s death, the shop has become a shrine to loss. Numbed by grief and disillusioned with the world, Steve prepares to close the doors for good, convinced the place and his purpose no longer matter. Unbeknownst to him, his daughter and employee, Jessica, launches a last-ditch effort to save the shop with a prize competition that draws in a stream of new customers, each carrying an object with a story to tell. Reluctantly, Steve is pulled into their lives, catching glimpses of their histories each time he touches their items. As Steve listens to his customers, flickers of faith and resilience begin to crack through the armor of his bitterness. With Jessica’s support, he surrenders his grief and rediscovers his purpose, inspired by the stories behind the items people bring through his doors. Through the customers’ objects, he learns to admire their strength, love, and perseverance, transforming his own sorrow into hope and realizing that by embracing others’ stories, he has finally healed his own.
